We Help You Help Others

P.E.E.R. Resource Network (PRN) assists individuals, organizations and stakeholders by depicting people with lived experience as an approach to wellness.  By highlighting community inclusion and personal resilience as valued assets, PRN enlarges the realm of possibilities and purpose for those we help.  Our specialty is in identifying issues and matching them to strength-based resources and solutions to motivate and power peers.

Our History

Peer Recovery Network (PRN) was started in 2000 through the partnership of the Office of Behavior Health Service (OBHS) and the West Virginia Mental Health Consumers Association. Two people traveled WV developing collaborations with P.E.E.R. groups and providers once the network was established.  Volunteers and staff arranged for treatment for addicts seeking help.  They supplied transportation to and from services, offered educational programs, facilitated support groups, and advocated for more and better services.  When the Consumers Association disbanded in 2012 - 2013, PRN ceased to exist.

J.K McAtee and Linda Pauley were asked by the State to continue WV Leadership Academy, which was developed in WV in 1995.  While facilitating the WV Leadership Academy, J.K and Linda recognized the need to support the fledgling peer led community programs being established. This unmet need necessitated the formation of P.E.E.R. Resource Network in 2014.  We offer educational opportunities, peer support, organization support and advocacy for peer services.
